Katherine, my first born.

The following is a poem I composed for my eldest daughter in honor of her birthday today.
Soft eyes, soft heart
Soft sweet smile
A lilting song; an ornery dart
That knew no guile
Quiet child, observant girl
With inner dreams
Tender heart, emotive twirl,
Expressive teen.
Searching mind, undaunted drive,
Desire strong
Tenacious love, rebounding hope
Enduring long
Mother’s wound, sister’s cry
Daughter’s call
With dignity, rebuilding faith,
You walk through all.
